Oxford Grammar School, Himayatnagar celebrated its 23rd Annual Day on 3rd Feb, 2004 at Ravindra Bharathi. The eve commenced with pooja dance followed by grand display of cultural programmes. All the items presented were of the high standard and well trained, reflected rainbow varied culture & folk dances of our country. Students put up a magnificent and a colorful show, and conveyed the important messages through their dramas, plays, skit, songs, mime & dances and had proved that they are no less than adults. The students managed the whole programme right from speeches to comparing with great verve and spirit and entertained the parents & guests.

The meeting started after some cultural items. The Annual Report was presented by the Principal. The chief guest Dr. Barry Shapiro, Head of Project Development and Marketing, ICRISAT. He is of the opinion that moral education & character is more important than ordinary education. Allied activities will help the children to become genius. He expressed satisfaction as Oxford Grammar School is following these things.

 

The next speaker Ms. Jennet, the resource person for foundation for advancement of science is of the opinion that love is immeasurable and expressed that aim of the education is not to produce but to impart all round development to become active participants in the society.

Mrs. Nalini Ranga, former principal of Oxford Grammar School spoke that the school started in 1981 and has come a long way with tremendous development and encouragement given by the parents. She advised the students to follow 3D's that is Devotion, Dedication & Discipline.

While presiding over the meeting and concluding speech Sri Veda Kumar, the Chairman and Honorary Director, pressed the need to follow the education system to suit to the present time, the parents have to involve and encourage the children in this direction and equal responsibility lies on educational institutions, he said. Oxford is imparting education along with exposure to various activities to help the children to have sound physique and mental aptitude. The school is producing an all round personalities to the society with capabilities to face to the present competitive world.

Which is followed by prize distribution. On the eve of Annual day, prizes are awarded to the students as well as teachers. The programme was attended by Mr. M. Muralidhar Rao, Correspondent and Mrs. Sai Leela, Head Mistress.
