It gives me
immense pleasure to present the Annual Report for the year 2004-2005.
The School came into inception in 1981 and going to enter into 25th
year i.e., Silver Jubilee Year. Throughout this period the school has
striven its best for greater academic heights giving a strong
foundation over which the students build their career. I am proud to
say that we achieved 98.5 percentage of results in S.S.C Examination
March 2004 and cent percentage results in VII Common Examination.
Since our main
aim is bringing out the latent talents of the students equal
importance is given to Games and Sports, Arts & Crafts as well as
Extra Curricular activities through various Clubs.
Our students
participated in District, State and National Level Competition Exam in
Maths. Amar Sagar of IX C and Pranay Tej of VIII D were
selected in Mathematics Olympiad. Sukeerth of 9th
C and Rakesh of 9th C got first and 9th
ranks respectively in A.S.Rao Talent Examination conducted in the year
2004. Again Sukeerth of 9th C achieve first rank in
District Level and 4th Rank at State Level. In C.V.Raman
Talent Search Exam 2004 Sukeerth Reddy of 9th C stood
first at State Level and Rakesh of 9th C got 30th
rank and 24th Rank and 85th Rank at National
Level respectively.
Vinya of X C
got I prize in Telugu Essay Competition conducted at Madapati
High School.
In Cultural and
Literary Competition at St.Pauls High School, Arjun Shah X A
bagged I prize in MOCK PRESS.
Our Students
participated in various school Literary and Proficiency competition
like Hiroshima Day, Competitions held by Peace International Pvt.
Limited in Drawing & Painting, Reynolds Scholarship Examination by G.M.
Pens International Limited. 6th International Science
Talent Examination on Mass Action for Scientific attitude.
Our students
participated in WELCOME SONG in Environmental Day
Celebrations at Staff Administrative College on the theme to protect
forest.
Students of
Heritage Club participated in Heritage Programme to bring awareness
among the children in Preserving and Conserving the Historical
Monuments to strengthen our past. Many Documentaries, Models were made
by Club Members like Charminar, Golconda Fort etc .Coin
Collection(Numismatics) were also displayed by the children.
Tourism Club of
Oxford Grammar School has taken up many activities to increase the
awareness of the Natural, Historical and Cultural Resources of State
among the youngsters. Some of the activities are Rock Climbing,
Heritage Walk, Adventure Camp etc.
In the Bournivita
Quiz Contest conducted by K.Circle Oxford Grammar School stood in
sixth place.
To create
awareness in Science and Technology and to expose the students for
latest developments, Science Club members are engaged to take up
various projects like Nature Club with the help of Friends of
Snake Club working for the Conservation of Snakes.
Forum for a
Better Hyderabad and National Green Corps conducted a workshop in
promotion of clay Ganesh Idols without chemical colours on the
occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi Festival, to bring to the limelight the
pollution and damage to aquatic habitant and the shrinking of lake by
40% due to siltation.
In HRIDAY
SHAH programme conducted by Care Hospital, Prateek Kashiramkha of
X A and Shruti of X A got prize in the Elocution competition on
the Topic Tobacco and its Hazards
As a part of
curricular activity the school organised Arts & Science Exhibition by
Pre-Primary and Primary class, students who exhibited their talents
and imagination through their Models, Paintings, Crafts work etc., The
Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr.Upendra, Principal, District
Institutional Education Training. The turn out was more than the
Expectation.
In 2nd
Asian Childrens Film Festival our students took active participation
in Open Forum, Animation, Film Making and other workshops where
students got opportunities to meet and interact with celebrities.
To supplement the
class room teaching the students of X were taken for an excursion
Nagarjuna Sagar, Ethipothila Fall and Nagarjuna Konda. Pre-Primary &
Primary classes were taken to Pavani Resorts and Middle & high
Schoolchildren to Qutb-Shahi Tombs, Botanical Garden and Tribal
Village.
In Computer
Science many programming languages are taught. Multi Media Educational
CDs are shown for all classes. Kengs with Computer Society of India
conducted Computer Olympiad Test. IL&FS conducted Inter School
Competition PowerPoint presentation and Times of India conducted All
India Level Computer Essay Writing Competition and many students have
come out with laurels.
It is a fact that
our students have proved their mettle in Academic side as well as
Co-Curricular side. I feel, It is my duty to mention the following
achievements.
Firstly T.
Tejaswi Lalitha of Xth. B the Best player in
chess, has shown tremendous talent, got Ist place in
Hyderabad District State School Game Federation, Sunday chess
Tournament, A.P., School Federation, Telangan division and Kargil
Victory Tournament held at YMCA. She got many cash awards, Trophies.
The point to mention here, she secured First place at both
District and State level and stood second at National
level. The other promising students in chess are K. Swathi VI
C, K. Karan VII C, T. Shiva Teja X C, G. Suraj Kumar VI D, M.
Sai Laxmi Durga X B, K. Pramitha Pat Naik VI B, T. Hemon Sree
Vishnu VII B, played in super league match, Kargil Victory
Tournament, A.P. chess Association competition and secured many prizes
in chess game.
In the field
of Cricket C. Chandra Sekhar of 9th A ,Mvijay Krishna of
9th A and Karthik of 9th B, the
ALLROUNDERS in Cricket had been selected for Tippu Sultan National
Gold Cup held in the first week of May 2004.
In this 6th
Annual Kargil Victory Sports Festival 2004 the many
number of students got prizes in different games and sports like
Chess, Table Tennis, LawnTennis, Karate, Kabbadi etc.
Rounak J. Kothari
of 7th A has been selected Under 14 Years,
Hyderabad District Team in Cricket.
S. Dasarath Kumar
of 9th C got selected for National Team Under 14 Years,
organised by H.D.S.G.F. in Kabbadi.
The sole
intention of our school has been providing complete education,
offering allround development of the children to become responsible
individuals. The above facts make it crystal clear that the school is
successful enough to implement and achieve its aims and objectives. It
is not an exaggeration to say that with the kind support, valuable
advice and time to time guidance from our respected sir, Mr. Veda
Kumar, Chairman, Oxford Grammar School, it would not have been
possible for us to reach this level and with his inspiration we are
sure that we would reach to greater heights in future.
