27 th Annual Sports Day for the year 2007 – 2008

REPORT

Oxford Grammar School celebrated its 27 th Annual Sports Day on 26 th January 2008 in School Playground. The Guest of Honour present on the occasion was Mr. Niyal Yadav, International Volley ball player from Railways. Miss. Parameshwari, International Netball player. Mr. M. VedaKumar, Chairman of O.G.S., Mr. M.Muralidhar Rao, Correspondent and Mrs. B.Saileela Reddy, HeadMistress.

A festive spirit was created with a well decorated playground and every little detail seen to. Guard of Honour was presented by various houses of the school led by their respective captions. As the sports day was celebrated on 26 th January 2008 i.e. Republic Day, Songs and dances were performed by students depicted the rich and diverse culture of our country instilled a spirit of patriotism in the audience.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. VedaKumar, Chairman while addressing the gathering present he expressed that child, Parents and Teachers play a vital role in bringing out the hidden talents of a child. Participation of the students in extra Curricular activities and encouragement of the parents would strengthen the school, he promised to provide the students with experimental place to explore, to develop all round. He thanked the audience for their encouragement.

Miss Parameshwari, congratulated M.S.R. Harith Kumar of class X who is going to receive Bala Sri Award from the President of India shortly. She told that both academic and extra curricular activities are very important for a child's total growth. While sharing her experience she told that a proverb “Failure is path for success” has really proved in her life to achieve her goal. She advised the students to try and try till they succeed in their goal.

Mr. Niyal Yadav, while speaking expressed that he was impressed to watch the exhibition Kabbadi match played by different houses of the group and congratulated the students for their success and wished them all the luck in their future.

The Headmistress, Saileela Reddy, a pillar of strength and support to the Institution read the Annual Sports Report.

Followed by prize distribution, many prizes and Trophies were given to students who fair in different Athletic games conducted on the occasion.

Oxford Grammar School celebrated 26 th Sports cum Annual Day celebration on 10 th & 11 th February 2007 in the School Playground
On the First Day i.e. 10 th February 2007 , Pre-Primary and Primary students displayed their unbeatable talent and proved they were no less than high school students. Parents and invitees attended in large numbers. This showed the kind of involvement created among the parents by the School Management. The Chief Guest for the sports Programme was Mr. S. Jay Raj, Former Director Department of Physical Education, Osmania University , Guest of Honour, Mr. K.A. Shiva Prasad President, AP Chess Association, The special invitees present were Master Md. Shaibeaz Tumbi & Master B. Manoj Kumar upraising cricketers, Provided great inspiration to our students. The programme was presided over by Chairman of Oxford Grammar School, Mr.M.Veda Kumar. Head Mistress Mrs. B. Saileela & Correspondent Mr.M.L.Muralidhar Rao participated
The school is divided into four Groups (i.e. Red Roses, Green Champak, Sun Flower & Blue Bells). Four houses along with schoolhouse performed a spectacular & colourful March past. The Chief Guest Mr. S. Jay Raj took the salute, hoisted the sports flag and declared open the Sports Meet. He praised the various activities undertaken by the school and said that the students are very lucky have a big playground and other facilities to develop their personality and skill. Mrs. B. Saileela, Head Mistress read the Annual Report of the School. The programme started with welcome song invoking Goddess Bharathi followed by Mass Drill, Aerobics, Tribal Dance and Final events in Games and Sports. The ballet on Traditional Games of Andhra Pradesh was a Grand Finale, enthralled the audience by bringing the nostalgic memories to come alive. The last item of the event was Prize distribution Merit & Sports prizes were distributed to the winners.

On 11th February 2007, High School students displayed their talents. It was a colourful and wonderful combination of Sports Final events and Cultural programmes. The Chief Guest was Mr. A. Satyanarayana Reddy, Regional Joint Director of School Education, Government of Ap., The Guest of Honour, Mr. S. M. Ariff, Dronacharya Awardee, International Badminton Coach, Mr. M.Veda Kumar, Chairman of Oxford Grammar School, Mrs. B. Saileela, Head Mistress, OGS & Correspondent Mr. M.L.Muralidhar Rao were present along with the dignitaries on this occasion.

Oxford grammar school is celebrating 25th sports day celebration on 10th & 11th December 2005. This year's sports days assumed to be a special significance, being this a Silver Jubilee Year and the occasion was utilized to celebrate and encourage the tiny tots.

The venue is the schools spacious play ground. Sri Rami Reddy, Former International Athlete & International Coach hoisted the sports flag. He declared the sports day open and took the salute along with the Chairman, Oxford Grammar School Sri Veda Kumar

Mr. Veda Kumar said that, the children have to be exposed to various events suitably to have a good physical fitness at tender age and at later stage this enable the children to select their choice of events in games and sports to become an eminent personality.

The school's report was presented by Head Mistress Mrs. Saileela Reddy, while speaking Sri Rami Reddy expressed his opinion that the school days are memorable days throughout the life. This is the basic step for participating in international sports. This is the channel through which the students can reach international level at the early age. He wished the Oxford Grammar School to achieve a great success in future.  Spectacular events are presented by the students like butterfly drill, pyramids, vandematram & kolattam followed by the prize distribution.
Oxford grammar school celebrated Silver Jubilee sport's day on 11th December 2005. Today's evening programme is presided over by chairman of Oxford Grammar School, Mr. Veda Kumar. Before the meeting the students performed wave dance, pyramids, bamboo dance & vandematram. The high light of the evening is bamboo dance, which was an eye feast to every one.

Mr. S. Balasubrahmanyam, lAS" Commissioner & director of school education, Govt. of AP who was the chief guest is of the opinion that the students performed like professionals. Students are important for the development of our country. Utmost importance should be given to the sports in our over populated country for self-discipline and overall development of the children. Even Government is giving utmost importance to encourage the students to take up the sports as a profession. Even the foreigners feel that India is one when they watch our sports. Our sports personalities like Gopichand, Haritha, Karanam Malleshwari, KoneruHampi etc., are excellent examples for the Government's encourageme11t. He himself wanted to help and develop the sports among students

Mr. L. Venkatram Reddy, honorary secretary, AP Olympic Association, who was guest of honour appreciated and congratulated the students and organizers for the spectacular programme.

Sri K. Narsaiah,Special Officer, A.P.Sports School, Hakimpet is also of the opinion that the physical activity is replaced by technology so sports should be given utmost importance to the students. He is of the opinion that human beings should have some thing special than animals. This specialty is followed by practicing the sports for the physical development. Recently in our country parents are discouraging their children to practice the sports. So the Government is giving importance to them. Strong personality development courses should be introduced to achieve the positive attitude of the mind. Through sports only it is possible to achieve positive ideas because of the sportsman spirit.

Miss Haritha, Women's Weight Lifter, Silver Medallist, Common Wealth Games, is also of the opinion for the encouragement of sports by the p3ll"ents and the institutions.

The Head Mistress of the school Mrs. Saileela Reddy presented the school annual sport's report. On this occasion Sri S Balasubrahmanyam IAS falicitated Sri L. Venkatram Reddy, Honorary Secretary, AP Olympic Association on behalf of the school. Prize distribution followed the final events.

54thRepublic Day Celebrations was also observed as SPORTS DAY

54th Republic Day Celebration was also observed as Sports Day by Oxford Grammar School. Mrs. Mulini Reddy Arjuna Award Winner and Indian volley ball player was the chief guest. However Mrs. Sail Leela Reddy, HM and Mr. Muralidhar Rao, Correspondent were also present on the dias.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Mulini Reddy appreciated the work of management which provided a spacious play ground and all the necessary facilities to children for all the games & sports. She said that a child starts playing right from the cradle itself and that play has to continue systematically afterwards also She had observed that usually students are burdened with home works which stop the children from whole heartedly playing the games.

HM. Mrs. Sai Leela Reddy however gave detailed information of how constitution was into force. She also mentioned the countries and persons who were involved in the process.



Chief Guest Mrs. Mulini Reddy gave away the prizes to the winners of different games and sports which were held in the school premises last week.

23rd Annual Day Celebrations
Oxford Grammar School, Himayatnagar celebrated its 23rd Annual day on 3rd Feb. 2004 at Ravindra Bharathi. The eve commenced with pooja dance followed by grand display of cultural programmes. All the items presented were of the high standard and well trained, reflected rainbow varied culture & folk dances of our country. Students put up a magnificent and a colourful show, and conveyed the important messages through their dramas, plays, skit, songs, mime & dances and had proved that they are no less than adults. The students managed the whole programme right from speeches to compering with great verve and spirit and entertained the parents & guests

The meeting started after some cultural items. The Annual report was presented by the Principal. The chief guest Dr. Barry Shapiro, Head of Project Development and Marketing, ICRISAT. He is of the opinion that moral education & character is more important than ordinary education. Allied activities will help the children to become genius. He expressed satisfaction as Oxford Grammar School is following these things. The next speaker Ms. Jennet, the resource person for foundation for advancement of science is of the opinion that love is immeasurable and expressed that aim of the education is not to produce but to impart all round development to become active participants in the society.

Mrs. Nalini Ranga, former principal of Oxford Grammar School spoke that the school started in 1981 and has come a long way with tremendous development and encouragement given by the parents. She advised the students to follow 3D’s that is Devotion, Dedication & Discipline.

While presiding over the meeting and concluding speech Sri Veda Kumar, the Chairman and Honorary Director, pressed the need to follow the education system to suit to the present time, the parents have to involve and encourage the children in this direction and equal responsibility lies on educational institutions, he said. Oxford is imparting education along with exposure to various activities to help the children to have sound physique and mental aptitude. The school is producing an all round personalities to the society with capabilities to face to the present competitive world.

Which is followed by prize distribution. On the eve of Annual day, prizes are awarded to the students as well as teachers. The programme was attended by Mr. M. Muralidhar Rao, Correspondent and Mrs. Sai Leela, Head Mistress.

The 22nd  Sports Day of Oxford Grammar School was celebrated in a Frolicsome atmosphere to welcome the 32nd  National Games on December, 2002 at Children's World Playground, Street No.11, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, The Chief Guest of the Celebrations was Arjuna Awardee and Hockey Player Mr. N. Mukesh, the Guest of Honour was the International Eves Cricketer Miss. Mithali Raj, the programme was presided by the Honourary Director of the School Mr. M. Veda Kumar. The Chief Guest in his speech advised the parents to guide their children to select their choice of activity and he insisted the parents to encourage the child to become master in that particular activity. He praised the School Management for arrangements for regular coaching in Games and Sports and Fine Arts apart from the Education.

The Guest of Honour Ms. Methali Raj in her brief speech advised the students to reach the goals with hard work as nothing is impossible in life if we try hard.

Mr. M. Veda Kumar in his presidential address said that Sports cultural must prevail in the minds of children for this purpose, children must be exposed to various kinds of Games and Sports, Fine Arts and performing Arts from Primary level onwards this will enable the children to become an eminent personality in their respective field.
