BALA RATNA AWARD
Master. M.S.R. Harith Kumar of X ‘B’ received Bala Ratna Award for The topic Creative Scientific Innovation
(Heat energy & Geo thermal energy) from Chief Minister Y.S. Raja Shekar Reddy on 14th November 2007 at “Bal Bhavan”.

Master. Harith Kumar Makkapati, S.R, a student of Oxford Grammar School, Himayathnagar has been selected to be confered the National Bala Shree Honour-2007, a Prestigious Award for extraordinary talented child at National Level, by National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. He will be receiving this great honour from H. E : The President of India at Bala Shree Honour Function at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi . He is also a recipient of Bala Ratna Award from our Honourable Chief Minister of A.P., Dr.Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy on November, 14 th , 2007 .

Master Harith Kumar has received many other awards and prizes in his student's life. Very recently he attended National Conference of Young Environmentalists, conducted by National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi . On marine life at Jam Nagar, Gujarat , he bagged Two First prizes at National level in presentation and environmental service separately, as well as First Prize in all round performance in the conference. He also got many I prizes in the competitions conducted by many organisations such as Bournavita, Nestle Magi Quiz competitions etc.,

He also secured National ranks in National Science Olympiad, C.V.Raman Olympiad, Unified Council, Australian Chemistry Olympiad and Astronomy Olympiad. He received Best Students Award from Somanath Maharshi Kshetram and stood first in All India Camel Colour Contest. He always stood class I throughout, from Class Nursery to Class X consecutively.

Speaking in this context, Master Harith Kumar expressed that the encouragement given by the school management and teachers has helped him a lot in receiving such laurels at the National and State level. He also expressed his gratitude to his parents for their encouragement in the studies.

He is of the opinion that all the schools should provide maximum facilities to bring out the latent talents of the students, so that they could reach to their expectations in their academic and co-curricular activities. He also acknowledged since Oxford Grammar School is providing maximum facilities, he was able to reach such heights.

His parents Mr.A.Lakshmipathi, Asst.Audit Officer (CAG Office) and Smt.A.Umadevi working as a teacher conveyed their gratitude to the Management and Head Mistress.

Oxford Grammar School Management, Head Mistress, Staff and students feeling happy that, Harith Kumar has been selected for Bal Shree Award for creative, scientific innovations.

Speaking on the occasion Sri.M.Vedakumar, Chairman, Oxford Grammar School said that the school is giving importance to the complete personality development along with the studies. Because of which many students are winning many awards and rewards in various fields which he has taken as a policy of the school and make the students world citizens.

The Oxford Grammar School student Subash of X was selected as a recipient of prize, for his best speech on "What do children expect from a working mother". The elocution was held at school premises organized by Red Cross Society A.P State branch on 4th December 1998 the selected student received this prize from the Governor his excellency Mr.Ranga Rajan on 5th September 1999.

Every child ought to be more intelligent than his parents. The Oxford Grammar School follows the tradition of awarding prizes for their brilliancy in academics during the annual school day function. Mr. Pramod Talgery Vice-Chancellor, central institute of English and Foreign Languages has awarded a prize to one of the students during 19th Annual Day Celebrations during 1999-2000.
