Workshop for setting up Heritage Clubs in Schools

The Heritage  Education and Communication Service (HECS) of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) with the support of the Department of Educational (Ministry of Human Resource Development) has been involved in building a network of heritage clubs in schools throughout the country.

To initiate this campaign, HECS in collaboration with INTACH AP Chapter and Forum For A Better Hyderabad would be conducting a 2 day Workshop for Setting Up  Heritage Clubs in schools.  The workshop aims to provide:

  • Necessary information and skills for teachers to develop their own heritage awareness programmes and heritage education material for students.

  • To motivate teachers to use appropriate resource material in class room teaching.

  • To motivate teachers in playing an effective role in sensitizing children about their heritage.

  • To start Heritage Clubs in schools.

We would like your school to be a part of this programme.  We invite two middle School Social Studies Teachers or Teacher-incharge of cultural activities from your school to participate in the workshop.

Each teacher would be awarded a certificate at the end of the workshop.

Tea and Lunch would be provided.

Observation and campaign of "Tree Plantation week" by Oxford Grammar School students

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oxford Grammar School is the abode of quality education which is imparted here as its primary task. To cater to the need of day to day life of the modern world, children are provided facilities to partake co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Fine Arts and Performing Arts, Carpentry, Animation are the existing activities in the school along with exposure in games like cricket, table, tennis, shuttle, volley ball, kho-kho, kabaddi etc., Well equipped spacious play ground and the guidance of expert P.E.T teachers helps the students not only to get exposed to games but also to develop their complete personality.

Master D. MOHIT of VIII "A" Secured II Prize in the 10k Run organized by "10k Foundation and Department of Youth Advancement Hyderabad" on 30th November, 2003. He bagged the prize among 17,000 participants. Securing Prize is a regular habit to him. He had set up a very record of him in the running race events. He secured many prizes in the school competitions and inter school competitions.

It may be noted that Master Mohit of class VIII stood Ist in the Juniors Marathon Run on the eve of Opening Ceremony of IMAX Theatre of Mr. Ramesh Prasad. He received the prize from the noted Cricket Ex-captain Md. Azharuddin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

"VANAMAHOSTHAVA"

The National Green Corps students of Oxford Grammar School organised a rally on 31st July, 2003 as a part of Government programme "Plantation" on account of "Vanamahosthava" week. 100 students of classes 8th and 9th went round in the streets of 9th and 10th of Himayathnagar holding placards on "tree plantation" "clean - green" "Conservation of Nature". They explained the need of having rain-pits in the nearby residential area. They tried to educate the people about the personal hygiene and surroundings cleanliness in the slum area. Later they had a brief discussion with the people live in the multi-storeyed buildings about the need of increasing the greenery in around their complex. Students achieved in making people take an oath of conserving the nature within their limits.
