Oxford Grammar School felicitated Mr. Shoaib Maqsusi a team member of Deccan Chargers for the IPL - II. He was an Oxfordian and started his career as Cricketer when he joined the school in 1999. He practiced his cricket in Oxford school play ground under the coach Mr. Ibrahim, father of Shoaib.

The felicitation was held in the school play ground and Shoaib with his father was present. Mr. Vedakumar, the chairman of the school was the chief guest. Shoaib was invited by the staff, students of the school. Students were very happy to see Mr. Shoaib among them. Talking on the occasion Mr. Vedakumar, the chairman of the school expressed his pleasure for Shoaib reaching the great heights. He felt that all the students should take the inspiration of Shoaib for the future achievements. He felt happy that the school ground could produce the best products under the management of Oxford Grammar School. He expressed his hope of many more achievements.

Mrs. Saileela Reddy H.M of the school spoke on the occasion and said that Shoaib as student was very much disciplined and obedient. She felt that the behaviour of a students is basically depends on the brought up of the parents. She appreciated the parents. Later some of the students of the school expressed their happiness for their ex-students achievement in the recent IPL – II.

Shoaib talking on the occasion recollected his student days in the school and the training he had taken when he was in the school. He shared his feelings with the students about his experiences of the matches that he played in South Africa for the IPL – II.

The following students participated in ‘Children’s day interschool Chess tournament’ organized by ‘Jaya prada chess academy & AWA Sports academy’ under the AEGIS of AP Chess Association, at Anandnagar Community Hall, Khairatabad, on 10th Nov,’09. Our school students participated in 4 categories i.e. all Senior Girls, senior boys, junior boys & junior girls. Our school students won the prizes in different categories out of ‘top ten’. Children received prizes from state school games federation organizer, K.Rami Reddy state AP chess Association General secretary K. Kanna Reddy and organizing secretary J.Subramanyam. The names are as follows.

Oxford Cricket Club was established 18 years ago. Mr.Syed Ibrahim and Mr.Srinivas coaches of OGS, are successful in accomplishing, under 14 and under 16 teams by rendering intensive Physical and technical training in the spacious school play ground. Every year during summer our school cricket team participates in the tournament conducted by BCCI in Bangalore. Our school teams under 14 & under 16 participated at District and state level conducted under auspicious of HCA and won many tournaments.

Our school cricket team got a rare opportunity to meet the present Indian Cricket Team, on visit to Hyderabad to play 5th One day International Cricket game at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Our school team went to meet them at Taj Krishna on 6th Nov, 09 along with their coach Mr.Ibrahim. Members of Oxford Grammar School team felt very happy. It was a great inspiration as well as motivation for our school players.
