At Oxford Grammar High School, we believe that sports play a vital role in shaping a child's physical, emotional, and social development. Our sports curriculum is designed to promote fitness, team spirit, discipline, and leadership. From structured coaching to inter-house competitions, we offer diverse sporting opportunities across indoor and outdoor games.
Cricket
Cricket is one of the most celebrated sports at Oxford Grammar High School. Our school takes pride in providing professional cricket coaching with dedicated pitches and practice nets. With expert coaches on board, students are trained rigorously in all aspects of the game—batting, bowling, and fielding. Our Under-14 and Under-16 teams are officially enrolled in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), giving them opportunities to play in recognized tournaments. The school regularly hosts matches, selection camps, and inter-school competitions to nurture cricketing talent from an early age.
Volleyball
Volleyball at our school is a dynamic and growing sport. The school campus features a well-maintained volleyball court where students receive regular training sessions. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, coordination, and game techniques such as serving, passing, setting, and blocking. Inter-house volleyball competitions are held to encourage healthy rivalry and develop match temperament among players. Through structured coaching and active participation, students learn to balance discipline and enjoyment on the court
Basketball
With a full-sized basketball court and qualified coaches, Oxford Grammar High School offers students the chance to explore basketball as a fast-paced and engaging sport. Training includes skill-building in dribbling, shooting, defense, and game strategy. The school has also had the privilege of inviting national-level basketball players like Sandeep Yadav to mentor and inspire students. Our basketball teams participate in various inter-school tournaments, helping students develop athleticism, leadership, and resilience through sport.
Indoor Sports
The school is equipped with a spacious indoor games area that supports multiple activities such as chess, table tennis, carrom, and yoga. These games are not just for recreation—they help enhance cognitive abilities, improve reflexes, and promote mental discipline. Weekly indoor sports periods are scheduled for all classes, encouraging participation and skill development across the board. In addition, yoga sessions are conducted regularly to instill mindfulness, balance, and a healthy lifestyle among students.
Athletics
Athletics is a vital part of our physical education program, with students participating in sprints, long-distance running, relays, and field events such as long jump and shot put. The school organizes an annual Sports Day that showcases the athletic abilities of students across all grades. With a dedicated track area and regular PE sessions, students are trained to improve speed, strength, and endurance while learning the value of sportsmanship and perseverance.
